Galera 2.0 is a major feature release introducing incremental state transfer. It is backward compatible with Galera 1.1.

MySQL-wsrep 5.1.58-21.1 released

This is a new bugfix/maintenance release for MySQL-wsrep 5.1 series. In this issue:

Bugs fixed:

  • secondary index not supported in multi-master mode and/or parallel applying
  • cascading foreign keys cause crash in InnoDB plugin
  • bad SST request could destroy the database on donor
  • Large LOAD DATA files not supported

New:

  • updated to MySQL-5.1.58
  • wsrep_cluster_name, wsrep_node_name, and wsrep_sst_* variables can be changed in runtime now

This is a new bugfix/maintenance release in 0.8 series (would be 0.8.3). In this issue:

  • primary component can not be formed after fast node restart

  • wsrep API version is now prepended to Galera version number.

So, the other day I posted the performance benchmarks for the multi-master MariaDB/Galera cluster. Spectacular performance. But some of you may justifiably say:

Preview of 0.8 series

Galera 0.8 is long overdue. The last delay is due to the need for writeset format changes. But otherwise it is so good that we just could not hold it any longer and decided to make a preview release of 0.8 Galera. It is not a GA as it will be protocol-incompatible with upcoming 0.8, but fully representative of it in terms of performance, usability and features.

MySQL/Galera 0.7.6 released

MySQL/Galera 0.7.6 maintenance release is out. Changes include:

  • upgrade to MySQL 5.1.53
  • Fixed 2 reported group communication layer issues that led to spontaneous cluster unavailability.
